Fringe Month Is Here!

As Elizabeth Rose pointed out in her post The Fast & The Furious, we here metanotherfrog.com are ‘keen to theorise, hypothesise and research’. Today I will add a corollary to that by stating that we are especially keen about learning, discussing and theorising about all things related to sex (you’re all surprised by this, right?).

In late November, while the three of us were discussing the topics we would cover for the next few months, I happened to mention that I was fascinated by men’s squeamishness about butt play. In that instant Elizabeth Rose perked up and I knew I was in trouble (sometimes I talk too much for my own damn good). There was a glint in her eye as she shouted,

‘Let’s make January Fringe Month! We can discuss all things sexual that are not considered ‘normal’ (she did air quotes as she said this) by polite society.’

Horrified by the thought of delving into uncharted waters, I opened my mouth to protest, but it was too late. Sam Sharpe was already rubbing his hands together.

‘Yes, I’m in,’ he said, as he whipped out a piece of paper and started writing. ‘Butt play, public sex, filming, role play—‘

‘Good start man. Add spanking, blindfolding and tying up, threesomes and erotic asphyxiation,’ Elizabeth Rose said with a giggle, ‘This is going to be fuckin’ awesome!’

WTF is erotic asphyxiation? I’m pretty sure I was shuddering as I asked, almost inaudibly, ‘Guys you sure about this?’

But they were too engrossed in developing their list to hear me or at least they pretended not to. The decision had been made. We were going to the ‘outer limits’ in the New Year.

Now, here I sit on New Year’s Day, writing our intro to Fringe Month. Even though I’ve had more than a month to process this, I’m still filled with trepidation when I look at the list of topics we are going to cover, or more specifically that I have to write about this month. But not to worry, I’ve never been one to let fear stop me. And besides, I’m going to learn some things, and I love learning. Really, it’s going to be great. I just know it (she writes while fidgeting in her seat nervously).

So dear readers, over the course of the next 31 days you can expect wild and wonderful theories, discussions and anecdotes about sex on the wilder side.
